You will be responsible for:
Radiologic Technologists perform radiographic examinations that create images for diagnosis. Radiography integrates scientific knowledge and technical skills with effective patient interaction to provide quality patient care and useful diagnostic information. Radiographers must maintain a high degree of accuracy in radiographic positioning and exposure technique. Radiologic Technologists prepare for and assist the Radiologist in the completion of intricate radiographic examinations.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND JOB RESPONSIBILITIES :
A. Clinical Performance Standards
1. Collects pertinent data about the patient and the procedure. Uses consistent and appropriate techniques to gather relevant information from the medical record, significant others and health care providers. The collection of information is determined by the patient needs or condition.
1. Reconfirms patient identification and verifies the procedure requested or prescribed
1. Verifies patient pregnancy status when appropriate.
1. Determines whether the patient has been appropriately prepared for the procedure.
1. Measures patient size when needed.
1. Selects KVP, MA and Time when needed. Selects proper focal film distance to obtain satisfactory radiographs.
1. Elicits confidence and cooperation from the patient, the public and health care providers by providing timely communication and effective instruction.
1. Provides accurate explanations and instructions at an appropriate time and at a level the patient can understand.
1. Addresses and documents patient questions and concerns regarding the procedure when appropriate.
1. Refers questions about diagnosis, treatment or prognosis to the patient?s physician.
1. Consults with other departments such as patient transportation, nursing, scheduling and registration for patient services.
1. Develops collaborative partnerships with other health care providers in the interest of diagnostic and therapeutic quality and cost effectiveness and safety.
1. Monitors the patient?s physical condition during the procedure
1. Reviews images to determine if additional images will enhance the diagnostic value of the procedure.
1. Documents diagnostic, therapeutic and patient data in the RIS and PACS. Documentation must be timely, accurate, concise and complete.
1. Maintains cleanliness and general orderliness of the examination room, radiographic equipment and processing areas.
Qualifications
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED :
+ Ability to learn and use Radiology software packages such as Cerner, Current PACS application.
+ Ability to quickly learn and follow departmental policies and procedures.
+ Maintain responsibility for all Hospital continuing and annual education.
+ Must maintain all required registries and licenses to perform imaging procedures.
+ Ability to follow Basic Radiation Safety concepts of time, distance and shielding to keep exposure levels ALARA for patients and staff.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED :
+ High School Diploma or GED upon hire
+ Diploma from an approved school of Radiologic Technology upon hire
+ Two years? experience as a Registered Radiological Technologist
_EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE PREFERRED:_
+ Associates Degree
+ 1 Year Interventional Experience
LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION OR REGISTRATION REQUIRED :
+ Current ARRT certification upon hire
+ Current Florida State license in Radiologic Technology upon hire
+ Basic Life Support Certification upon hire

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
